what we've been up too

Wow where do I even start? We've been a little busy the last month or so and Grandma April came to visit. Parker turned six, he had a Phineas & Ferb party with his friends and classmates on his actual birthday. Then that Sunday evening he requested  we have a family dinner and wanted  Grandma to make his favorite chicken fried steak. I can't believe he's 6!! Where does the time go?
Preslie has been busy in her dance class and loving every minute of it. She was so excited that Nana Tinkerbell and Grandpa Joe got to see her dance at her dance class with her friend Sunni.
Parker had a thanksgiving day program at school and my mom & step-dad Joe were able to attend along with Tami, April and Grandpa Kevin & Grandma Katie. He did great after practicing his lines for a week. He was front and center and the only one you could hear. We had a busy Thanksgiving with 35 people for dinner, the kids had a blast. We played games, ate great food and enjoyed the our company. My mom and Step dad came before and after Thanksgiving so it was fun to have a little time and Christmas with them.
After Thanksgiving Preslie and I took a trip to Medford to see my family and friends and wait for the arrival of my new niece. We thought she was going to come early so only planned to stay until Sunday but she came a day later on Monday December 3,2012. She was born at 4:32PM and weighed 7lbs 3 oz and was 19 inches long.  I am so excited to have another niece and December birthday buddy. She is so adorable and very much loved by her Big Brother Brody. Preslie thinks she is her sister and I didn't want to give her the bad news so I'm just going to let her think that. She will probably be the closest thing to a sister Preslie will have. I enjoyed my time seeing family and catching up with my childhood friends Leilani and Ashley and Ashley's little boy Leo, he is so adorable.
Last weekend was my companies annual holiday party and for the first year ever Dustin's was on the same night. Since his company is so small and he likes my parties better he came to mine. We had a nice night out and fun with all my coworkers. I truly am blessed to work for such great people.
This week I celebrated a milestone- I turned the big 3-0! I woke up to my kids in a terrible moods but quickly turned when i showed up for work and my desk was decorating and was greeted by my best friend Megan and her two kids. A little bit later someone asked me if i drove my car to work like that today? I had no idea what they were talking about and was surprised to find out my friend had decorated my car too! Dustin got me a dozen beautiful red roses and we ate dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant so it turned out to be a wonderful day.
Friday night we went to dinner with our friends The Lambert's and the Agee's to the melting pot. It was so much fun and the food was delicious. Dustin will turn 30 on Monday so we will celebrate his then.
We are busy getting ready for Christmas and enjoying all the activities we love this time of year. I will try and keep up on my blog but can't make any promises. So Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays

Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween!! This year Halloween landed on a Wednesday so we had a costume contest at my work. It was a sports theme so I wore Dustin's Dodger jersey, it was alot of fun and everyone dressed up . I got off early to make sure the kids got in their costumes and we hit all the family before we actually started to trick or treat. We  headed down to Dustin's old stomping grounds down on C Street in Washougal where Megan's grandma lives. We hit alot of houses and enjoyed time with our friends. Can't wait to do it again next year!!

BiZi FaRmS

Saturday after Parker's early morning soccer game we headed to BiZi Farms in Vancouver. The kids had so much fun, but after 3 hours we decided to head home and take a much needed nap. It was just the four of us which was nice since we usually go with our friends but this allowed us to let the kids play and do things on our own time. They had a corn bin, corn maze, fire trucks, animals, pumpkin launching, hay ride, hot chocolate and you got to pick any size pumpkin as long as you can carry it, as you can see from Parker's pumpkin photo. We are looking forward to Halloween this year, Preslie found her Captain America costume she wanted and Parker is going as Hulk Hogan!! Let the Halloween festivities begin.

Dancing Queen

Preslie has been in dance class for a couple of weeks now, she doesn't really dance all that much but enjoys her time with her friends Sunni & Victoria. Here is a video of her practing her cheerleading skills at the Camas football game a couple of weeks ago. If she starts to dance in class I'll make sure to post a video but don't hold your breathe.

Parker "The Boot"

Parker has started soccer again this year, he's on an all boys team called The Mallards. No one volunteered to coach so of course Dustin said he would help out. So he's the head coach, lets just say if theres no coach next year Parker will play football instead. Here are a couple of videos of him playing, he's alot more aggressive this year I think because it's all boys. We ran into his coach from last year who stayed to watch him play and said he's still Parker the boot!! In the last 3 games he's scored 25 goals!!!

Preslie goes banana's

We celebrated Preslie's birthday seems like all weekend long . Preslie and I started her celebration early by getting pedicures on Friday while Parker was at school. She was a little scared at first but now she's hooked. I told Dustin I created a diva. Saturday night we did a monkey party for the family and a few friends. We had a great turn out since we had some family in town that normally isn't here. We loved having them here to help us celebrate.  Monday night we took her to TOYSRUS to pick out a present, she got a pink razor scooter and a princess helmet. Tuesday on her actual birthday we went to dinner at Heller's with the Strunks, both Fenne families, Jackie & Josie and Megan and Sunni. She was spoiled rotten and keeps asking about when her next party is. Thanks to everyone who sent cards and called her on her birthday we appreciate it.

8 Wonderful Years

This past Monday Dustin & I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. We celebrated a little early with a night out with friends for a couple of drinks while Dustin's parents took them overnight. Since we both worked all day on our actual anniversary we decided to take the kids to dinner at our favorite restaurant Billigan's Roadhouse. Our celebration has changed over the years from beach trips with just the two of us to dinner with the kids doing. Instead of talking through dinner we are arguing doing rock, paper, scissors on who takes them to the bathroom.  After dinner we took the kids to TOYSRUS for Preslie to pick out her birthday present. Since she is born the day after our anniversary it's kinda hard to get away. I feel so lucky to have met Dustin when I did. It helped make the move from my family a little easier. He is an amazing father and wonderful husband, Not sure many people can say they have a husband who cooks, cleans, does the laundry and helps with the kids all the time. I love him more than anything , he's my best friend! Hopefully one of these days we will get away on a nice vacation without the kids.

Parker's 1st Day of Kindergarten

Parker started school today, it was a tough morning for us girls. Parker woke up early excited to start the day. Preslie walked around crying all morning not wanting him to leave. She cried all the way to his classroom and even more when we had to leave and she couldn't stay and sit next to him. I finally talked her into a hot chocolate and mommy and Preslie time and we were off. As soon as she stopped crying I started the doors to the school shut and I lost it. Preslie helped me stop by asking "mommy why is there water all over your face" We ran some errands and came home and every five minutes Preslie kept asking when is it time to get Bubba. While waiting for Parker to get out of class miss found the Helen Baller Bear and got a cute picture with the bear. After school Tami meet us and treated us all to Taco Bell. We came home and took a nap then enjoyed the evening as a family talking about his first day. We appreciate all the calls from family who called to chat with him about it, we are truley lucky to have so many people who care!

I found this letter and it pretty much sums up how I felt today:

I wonder what you're doing right now, And if everyone is treating you kind. I hope there is a special person, A nice friend that you can find.

I wonder if the teacher knows just how special you are to me. And if the
brightness of your heart is something she can see.

I wonder if you are thinking about me and if you need a hug. I already miss the sound of your voice and how you give my leg a tug.

I wonder if you could possibly understand how hard it is for me to let you grow. On this day know that my heart breaks. For this is the first step in letting my baby go.
